0262. The Rolling Stones
Aftermath
The Stones are back again, and this time it's their first album with only original songs. And well, once again I only had access to the American version and not the original British release, and thus there are five tracks that differ:
Mother's Little Helper, Out of Time, Take It or Leave It and What to Do got replaced by Paint It, Black (which was the current U.S. number one single) and while it's a magnificent song I don't really know if it's worth it album integrity-wise as there aren't many hits left.
A couple of competent songs like High And Dry still exist, but the only stand-out song left (besides of course the imported Paint It, Black) is Under My Thumb.
One thing that might be a step up on the American release is that Going Home was moved from the en of the A-side to the end of the B-side, a more natural placing for the eleven minute jam that's more interesting from a music-history standpoint than from a "I want to hear great songs"-point.
