What is this?
Hi! The names André and I like music.
Sometimes though it feels like we've lost touch over the years and that's why this page exists. I also feel that my knowledge of the english language needs some polishing. And what better than to combine the two by writing short reviews of some great albums?
So I bought this book some time ago containing the 1001 greatest albums of all time (well, at least the ones that had a major break-through in the western world) and I know: it's only up to date if you live in the year 2005, but I figure that by the time I'm ready with that one there'll be a book 'bout the "greatest albums of the new millennia". Also: I don't limit myself to just reviewing the albums in the book, but also albums I get hold of during the time (that's why the page's not called "1001 albums"), so if you've got an album that's not in the book that you think I should listen to: contact me!
Anyhoo... Since I didn't want to go through it like a history book (all chronological and whatnot) I then constructed a tiny program in Python to give me a random pagenumber for the selection of the album. Then it was just the matter of setting up the homepage. And here we are now All reviews later.
Update - November 2012: A bit over a year left
One thing I found out kind of quickly was that it's easy to get in a
rut with a project like this - listening to an album, writing the same
old same old - so a major part of the scheme has been to check myself for
redundancies.
How I've fared? Well... it could have gone better.
