Released in the same year as yesterday's album, and also a debut, Are You Experienced beats Safe As Milk like a drunkard beats his liver.
It's also a prime example of how genius at times can overshadow talent, May This Be love, for instance, is a damn good track, but it's (almost?) never heard on rock radio or mentioned as anyone's favourite song. Might be due to it not having one of the patented raging Hendrix' solos, but instead has got a more mellow picking though out. Might also be due to it only being on the north American release - yes, I got the "wrong" copy, but this one's got Hey Joe and The Wind Cries Mary on it, so shut up, foo'
But no matter which version of this album you got, both Manic Depression and Fire are on it, which makes it a collectible and when Fox(e)y Lady (spelling depending on the release) and Third/3rd Rock From The Sun (yet again with the release-dependent spelling) are added to the mix it's a GotToGet
