0213. Captain Beefheart And His Magic Band
Safe As Milk

So, some guy calling himself Captain Beefheart gets picked up by The Magic Band, quickly rearranges the bossing-order and they together put out a couple of legendary albums whereof this is the first.
I can't say that I'm that that amazed though. I mean, it's good freak-music, but for me it's not that revolutionary. Jangly guitars, a sometimes guttural, Tom Waits-ish song, Safe As Milk's a fuzzed-out R&B-based album with a couple of more pure-bred blues-tracks makes it a good listen, but I have a hard time finding a track that really kicks me in the shins and calls me darling.
