The first track could be a leftover from a Bryan Ferry vs. The Stooges session, but The Saints' true claim to fame is being the first punk band outside of the U.S to release a single. That, and (if we're to judge by this, their second album, alone) being a helluva band.

Ignored by their home press as Australia was on a moral panic about that whole punk-rock's-the-end-of-values-as-we-know-them, and staying clear of the punk-as-a-fashion-statement scene after moving to the UK, The Saints still were successful enough to have their singles sell out of stock, as well as inspiring a truckload of other bands.

This album seems to have been recorded at two different times though, cause the singer's voice changes drastically (or am I having auditory illusions?).

They remind me of The Adverts in that they're a tight punk act with catchy songs, managing to keep their balance on the right side of the punk/pop divide.

So, now I'm just waiting for their first to pop up within the next four albums.
