0975. Queens Of The Stone Age
Queens Of The Stone Age
Now this is the way to do it!
This eponymous debut of Queens Of The Stone Age (with slightly
embarrassing cover imagery) sees the involved parties making
the stoner / desert rock into something with almost a pop
accessibility while still being heavy as, well, Kuyuss.
With the combination of heavy, fuzzed-out riffs and a singer who doesn't fall into the standard heavy metal growls or wails, but instead tries to seduce the listener by sounding so …nice.
Cause that's the thing with Queens Of The Stone Age: they don't sound like they're going to hurt you - they just want to bring you along into a stranger, darker world.
Later on they would create even better tracks, but this still is pretty damn good.
