0967. PJ Harvey
Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea
Finally! PJ's back! It's been two and a half years since last
and I've missed her.
And here she's polished a few things, without making it smoother,
and it works just like it should.
I'm annoyed as hell by Good Fortune (that bloody o-oh-oh-oh part), and I'm completely taken by Good Fortune (götterdämmerung what a hook). The duet with Radiohead's Thom Yorke, The Mess We're In, brings more of Radiohead than PJ Harvey, but as it's the The Bends era Radiohead sound it's a great song.
Unfortunately the album sort of loses its pacing towards the end, making We Float into a track I just can't remember if I've actually heard or not. Every time.
