And here, for his fifth appearance on the list, is Tom Waits again. This time it's mostly gruesome murder and death on the menu and of course it's captivating. Guy's got delivery.
He's modulating his voice, adding a lisp here, a rasp there, and general gruntyness all over together with an assortment of instruments of both traditional and, as it seems, in the style of the yomo gor.
I'm not so fond of his ballads as they very often feel out of place. In this case it's Who Are You that could have been skipped, but overall it's a good Waits album, not just a good album.
