With the follow-up to the debut
I guess it's the combination of Joe Elliott's constipated vocals and the attempts at having a big and menacing sound that does it.
The only things that make this somewhat interesting is that it's their first album since the drummer lost an arm in a car accident (so the sound's a bit different as it utilizes a combination of MIDI and analog drums) and that they lost their guitarist a couple of years later as he overdosed on meds and alcohol before their third album was recorded.
I can't fathom that they got seven frickin' hit singles off this.
