Logical Progression

Seems to be a lot of compilation albums lately. And while I at first thought it a bit cheating, it's just keeping to the rules of being "albums you must hear" and not the lesser category "albums by a single band or musician you must hear".

(can't believe it took me so long to get it)

This is LTJ gathering his most famous drum'n'bass tracks from the preceeding five/six years. And alongside a bunch of friends and colleagues' tracks, it's two hours and twenty minutes of the Amen beat in various forms. In spite of the setup giving off warning signs it works out pretty well.

It's the album that took d'n'b into the mainstream listeners' ears and it did it without totally selling out.

Here we can also hear how people have borrowed samples from eachother, as the moanings in the track Music is identical to the ones used extensively on a track on the Swedish (deep?) house compilation The Lords Of SVEK from some years later.

(by the way, I just got to mention this: this album's number 790 on the list, but also can be found on page 790 in the book! the Random Page Generator I'm using for picking albums sometimes pick'em kinda nice)
