Listed in the book as by Stephen Stills, this is actually the eponymous debut album of the band Manassas, whereof Stills of course was the key member (but I can see the confusion, as the cover sort of states "Stephen Stills' Manassas".

After Crosby, Stills, Nash And Young broke up (or down, depending on which way you see it), the Stills part of the group had a bit of trouble with his solo carreer. Luckily enough, another major group had a bit of trouble of their own.

The Flying Burrito Brothers had lost a bunch of members (among them Gram Parsons, the slayer of many a band) and were not doing good. So why not join forces? Or rather - the last founding member left and took one of the guitarists with him, effectively dissolving the Burritos.

For people who like Americana, country and bluegrass mixed with blues, latin and folk rock, or who just follow the carreers of Stills or The Flying Burrito Brothers, this is highly recommended. For everyone else, it's just a good album, though maybe a bit long.

Myself, I'm standing with a foot in the first and last camp, so I think it's pretty cool double album, but after a couple of listens back to back a bit of fatigue edges in.
