Wonderful Rainbow
I think the thing they're aiming for getting in a review is "a sonic assault". It's very non-verbal in the tracks that feature some variant of vocals (distorted screams someplace far, far away), and yes, there are definitely some tinnitus inducing qualities here.
I'm just about blown away by the fact that this is just a duo. Yep, it's just one guy on drums and one guy with a bass guitar beating the living daylights out of what they've got. Unfortunately it gets a bit monotonous towards the later half of the seven minute long 2 Towers, but that's about it, the rest of the album's top notch.
A prime example of taking a very limited setup and excelling above and beyond what most bands with a regular setup does.
