Big band jazz with a hefty dose of timbales, Machito and his Afro-Cubans band is apparently the pioneering Afro-Cuban / Latin jazz act. And even though this isn't their first album in the genre, it's a cool one.

Some of the tracks reminding me a lot of the tunes played in old Donald Duck cartoons, while others seem like the backdrop for a black and white gangster movie.

In short: it's like the soundtrack to your very action-filled day, where you get the prize in the end.
