0642. Talking Heads
More Songs About Buildings And Food
Getting out there with Talking Heads: 77, and then hooking up with Brian Eno for production of the follow up, you could only expect this to be a good album. (Eno and singer David Byrne would go on to collaborate on later projects too)
On this album it's the five-minute songs that excel. On both Found A Job and Al Green's Take Me To The River they take the opportunity that the (relatively) longer format gives to really get into a creative groove (and getting on the chart's with Take Me To The River).
As an aside, I think it's interesting that Thank You For Sending Me An Angel starts with the same style of rushing drums that's in the later release (and hit) Road To Nowhere. Or is it me hearing things again?
