0627. Bonnie "Prince" Billy
I See A Darkness

Behind the stage name Bonnie 'Prince' Billy is a guy called Will Oldham (sporting a magnificient moustasche) that had released a bunch of albums under different names (only one bearing his "real" name) until he hit home with this one.
It's brittle folk rock / pop and almost as non-intrusive as can be, while at the same time firmly occupying the ears for as long as it runs.
A pet peeve of mine are forced rhymes where reversed is the word flow as in Death To Everyone (also: see a lot of Swedish rap). It's still a good and suggestive song, but the chorus lines "Death to everyone / is gonna come" just sounds as if Yoda's written them.
Still, it's a good song and that goes for the whole album (even though Oldham's style of singing sometimes makes me wonder).
