Wild Gift

First of all, this might be the greatest band name on the list, both tying into the punk scene's fuck all attitude as well as outfoxing The United States Of America in sheer genius.

Sadly, no music can live up to a name like X, but Wild Gift still isn't a dull album. The vocals by poet Exene (and mostly sort of harmonized by her and bassist John Doe - almost too much of a thought to that pseudonym, given the band's name) are not the standard punk fare. Neither is the music as they mix rockabilly with rock and punk to get a pretty accessible, but still rough, sound.
Wild Gift's produced by ex-Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek, and an energetic and interesting ride.
