0605. The Rolling Stones
Sticky Fingers
Designing the sleeve with an actual zipper so it would have to be the first album in the crate or else it'd scratch the one in front might not be the nicest thing to do, but it's fun.
On the music side, this is the best Stones album
that's shown up, this far at least.
It's got what I associate with the "classic" Stones sound, and
actually representing it better than Exile On Main St.
Only thing that feels a bit off is the sax showing up here
and there, but that's okay, I can take it.
Getting in a cover of a song they'd already recorded with
Marianne Faithfull, but not giving her
writing credits could easily be taken as a very uncool move,
though - and, well, even the courts thought so and ordered
Faithfull's name to be added to the credits.
And it's probably redundant to say this, but I hear echoes
of Santana on Can't You Hear Me Knocking
[fact check: Keef vehemently denies it, so I guess it's been
said before].
By the way, unzipping the album reveals the Y-front clad crotch of an hitherto unknown model, and the stamp of approval from the concept's creator - Andy Warhol.
