Hounds Of Love
Nearly six hundred albums later, Kate's back! This time,
however, she's toned it down a bit.
The titular A-side is only connected by it's theme of love
and relationships. In all else it's five separate songs of
varied (but good) quality. The one we've all heard is of
course Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God), which opens
the album, a great track that could easily be the linchpin
of any mix-tape given to show one's "most inner feelings".
The B-side on the other hand is called The Ninth Wave and is
an pop-operette about a life flashing by as someone is treading
water during the course of a night, trying not to drown.
In essence a split vinyl double-EP, Kate Bush's Hounds Of Love
might not be as great as The Dreaming, but
it's good.
The fans thought so too, as they went out en masse and
made sure it pushed Madonna off the chart top, at least in the
UK.
