It starts and ends with a scream.
If I were more poetically inclined, I'd probably say that it is an allusion to the album's birth in the first track, and painfull death in the last, but that'd be far to pretentious so we'll just ignore this paragraph, okay?

For about six months to a year back in the mid-nineties, The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion was the coolest thing around, and it's easy to see why. This is the album The Strokes and their ilk wanted to release all along, but didn't have the nerve, nor fuckall-attitude to manage.

Playing a punked out version of the blues might not seem like so unique or interesting, but with the energy they put into i while also keeping in touch with the roots (among other things collaborating with blues legend R.L. Burnside) it's not really possible to play this anything but too loud.
