0567. Dusty Springfield
Dusty In Memphis
Wanting to follow in the footsteps of her idols, Dusty set out
to record an R'n'B album of her own and the result was a success.
Releasing almost an album a year since the debut, Springfield's
fifth album came just half a decade later than A Girl Called Dusty,
and this is an album made in and for the bed.
The success is in a large part owed to the single Son Of A Preacher Man, that since has graced many a soundtrack and many a dancefloor. But on the album there's also Just A Little Lovin' and Breakfast In Bed, two tracks enjoying the benifits of a lazy, loving morning.
The B-side sort of drops the ball, but the A-side is probably worn out if you own an original pressing.
