Duran Duran's genre of new romantic is music's equivalent of "chic lit" - just enough story to have an excuse for putting in heaps of cheap romance. Cause what can you say about lines like "some call it a one night stand, I call it paradise"?

Simply put it's a band writing songs about getting busy with it, to get some, but keeping it clean enough to be danceable the sixth grade disco.

Still... this was one of my favourite bands when I grew up. They had the melodies and they had enough of a cool eighties-image to be, well, cool to me. And even though this album was released before I took an interest in music, all the hits were still regularly played on both radio and MTV when I did.
