Parallel Lines
Just by looking at the tracklist I can identify at
least a handful tracks that makes this an album
to hear.
Sure, there are some fillers here (I Know But I
Don't Know and Will Anything Happen? to mention a
couple), but with Hanging On The Telephone and One
Way Or Another, plus Picture This and Heart Of Glass
everything is forgiven. The only downside is that
they're not spread out more evenly on the album, cause
it's a hit-heavy A-side.
Mainly it seems to be about obsessed, and doomed love. There are strong stalker tendencies in the three first songs, and some of the later ones give a distinct sense of impending death - possibly by nuclear war. Oh, how fun to grow up during the Cold War.
