0498. The Who
Who's Next
Originally planned to be another rock-opera, this follow up to Tommy didn't get all the way, but instead became a good album of nine not-entirely-connected-songs where a third became classics (also: at least one CSI theme), i.e. very unlike The Who Sell Out from a couple of years earlier.
Written and composed almost entirely by Pete Townshend, it's The Who's biggest selling album and also one of their best. Maybe not as elegantly controlled chaos as on My Generation, but as a listening experience a bit of a more grandiose ride.
