Modern Life Is Rubbish
Blur's back with their second album on the list, coincidentally
also their second album released.
After a semi-success with their debut followed by quickly going out of fashion,
since baggy wasn't
the flavor of the month anymore, they decided to reinvent themselves (seems
to happen a lot with these guys, so I'll have to go back to my previous review
and revise the part about "the previous four" being similar).
And thus, here's the more familiar Blur-sound with more Kinks'
style lyrics (and some similarities on the musical side too). A bit world-weary
and a bit cheeky delivered in Albarns very posh voice (which I, as I've already
noted, have a hard time taking seriously).
An okay album, but not much more.
