0433. Miles Davis
Bitches Brew
"It's Miles. We meet at 30th tomorrow."
That's about how much instruction I imagine the other musicians involved in this album
got.
Cause this is an hour and a half of improvisational jazz (okay, so a couple of parts
were rehearsed, but still), and as with most improv/avant garde jazz (that I've heard)
there's parts where it sounds as if everybody's forgotten they're playing together.
Strange thing is, though, that it doesn't sound bad.
Just like on In A Silent Way, I at times lose track of beginnings
and endings, and just like I predicted in Kind Of Blue, Miles and
company doesn't sound the same as on the other albums, but still no less intriguing.
The double-album is six tunes long, with the title track being almost half an hour in
itself.
