0412. Radiohead
Amnesiac
With the follow-up to the alienation-extravaganza Kid A, Radiohead managed to both continue down the "we don't wanna be in the spotlight"-path and make a more accessible album. Cause while it's still wierd and majorly electronic sounds, there's more of a melodic touch and a feel of stuff actually being targeted at an audience.
That, of course, doesn't mean it's rock'n'roll all the way. Au contraire it's bleeps
and slow pianos and bloops in what at times feels like random places.
More accustomed to their new soundscapes, they generally pull it off better than on
the predecessor, but Amnesiac lacks the (few) heights Kid A delivered. Even so, this
is a fully cromulent album that beats their previous.
