0372. The Bees
Sunshine Hit Me

British band The Bees aren't allowed to call themselves that in the U.S., so over there they're A Band Of Bees, but their music's the same no matter what they're called. On this, their debut, the band was a duo skillfully navigating the morning sounds, with almost every track sounding like the theme of a (quality) radio morning show. Towards the final tracks there's a shift, though, as they become more sombre (as well as a bit more Beta Band) in the sound.
But from jazz vibes to Jimmy Cliff-inspired dub-reggae to their cover of A Minha Menina by Os Mutantes (unexpected and while it doesn't quite reach the levels of the original it's still good) it's laid back, sweet (in a suave way) and damn cool.
