0303. The Smiths
Strangeways, Here We Come
The Smiths is a band I've never been interested in. Partly due to that the singles I've heard from them hasn't been that exciting and partly due to that I don't like the singer, Morrissey.
This album was their fourth and became their final as songwriter Johnny Marr quit the band between recording and release. While some tracks do have some redeeming qualities, mostly the back-beat Marr's experimenting with, but there are many others that just seems to be examples of "c'mon, we're drunk and I've got this major idea you got to hear" like Death Of A Disco Dancer.
I don't really know what to add to this more than I feel kind of worried for the people who claim that The Smiths / Morrissey are "singing my life", cause well, Moz is kind of an overly dramatic whiner.
