0281. Adam And The Ants
Kings of the Wild Frontier
After his whole backing band got whisked away to form Bow Wow Wow, Adam had to form another colony of ants for his third foray into the world of released albums.
The patented falsetto-squeals is a nice touch when used moderately, but when almost every line of almost every song starts to sound like yodeling the novelty wears off.
One fact that does remain though, is that the double set of drummers was a good idea. Cause the rhythm section is the one thing that keeps this album going longer than it otherwise could have managed as the final tracks are pure filler. Some of the other song are stumbling - not because they're genuinely bad, but that they are so similar that they just blend into each other.
