Kid A
Radiohead's had a bit of an annoying career (at least in their own minds) - thrown into reluctant stardom by making a great song, then releasing albums to alienate the fans, but only succeeding in getting more artistic credibility, they landed at Kid A as their fourth.
It's got no obvious (or even obfuscated) singles, but then again: it's not intended to.
Still with a penchant for the overly artistic and playing difficult it's a mess. A mostly nice mess that topped the charts, but still a mess.
The National Anthem is pretty bad, actually, but Everything In Its Right Place and How To Disappear Completely works. This isn't an album I'll come back to and listen to in its entirety, but for anyone who's interested in what a band'll get up to when in a crisis it's a possible must-hear.
