Dwight Yoakam
Buenas Noches From A Lonely Room
First thing that popped up in my mind?
"Dear Random Page Generator, you got to be shittin' me! Dwight Yoakam?"
As you can see I had no prejudices whatsoever about this album. And well, I must admit it wasn't as bad as I envisioned (cause yes, I mistook him for someone else).
Balancing on the edge between nostalgia and "too much" he's got the right nasal twang in his tone and the patented honky-tonk delivery backed up by some nifty songs and a good band.
It's very accessible and I understand that the average country fans bought it en masse (it reached number one album on the country list - his third in three releases), but for the average (or avid) music fan it's maybe not the most exciting album to date.
