0202. Nick Drake
Pink Moon
I'd say this album is somewhat of blueprint. Recorded in just two two-hour sittings this is an express delivery of softly sung poems with a guitar and the occasional piano as company, he's doing what millions of sensitive young men have tried (with varying success) ever since.
The sparseness of the setting contrasts nicely to the fullness of the sound, with Nick's haunting voice over his expert guitar-playing.
Sadly, this is yet another talented musician who lost himself to mental problems, as he quit music, became a recluse and killed himself just two years later.
