Selling England By The Pound
Feels kinda bad to expect the worst when an album I haven't heard yet comes up, but after the previous damn Genesis-album I didn't get my hopes up. And well:
Goddamnit, Genesis, why don't you just stop‽
(okay, I know, they did in fact stop doing this kind of dreg when they split up, but I'm talking to their 1973-selves now)
This time round the gimmick is medieval proto-nationalism: to the sounds of 1600's-inspired tunes there's a lot of nostalgia for Ye Olde England and it's just as boring as The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway (coincidentally their next release).
The only redeeming factor is that this one's only about half as long as The Lamb...
