Released as a 45 rpm, 12" triple-disc set, this tin-canned album cold probably have made an "albums I wan't to own"-list just for that, but since this is a listing that focuses on the music (when I don't get sidetracked) I'll have to at least try to write a review.
And I got to say that it's an uneven release. I have a hard time hearing what Lydon's singing and that adds to the ruins of their music.
The second song, Memories, is actually good, but then it slumps again and only starts to sound okay around the fifth track, Careering, but by then I've been tempted to either skip or stop listening, cause most of tracks sounds like they're made by very inexperienced musicians (seriously - this sounds like some of the stuff I made at fifteen with a busted 4-track tape recorder), I guess that's what you get for making an audition into a recording-session without the drummer knowing it.
The only tracks, beside Memories and Careering, that kind of catches my ear are Socialist, due to the quirkyness of it, and Radio 4, with it's sweet bassline, but after listening to this I can't say I'm amazed at all that Lydon's try-out for lead-singer in Devo was promptly rejected.
I don't even want the box anymore.
