Garbage
Hey, guess what? Both "alternative" and "eponymos" this is also a "debut" album, but don't fret: it's a pretty decent first outing for the less than inexperienced musicians.
Even though the first track, Supervixen, opens with an Oasis-like sound it gets saved by Ms. Manson's voice, which is a far cry of coolness from the whining of that Gallagher boy. And that's pretty much what lifts this album from being another brit-rock run-of-the-mill outing: the contrast of the song to the music. If the singer would have been either Ultracool Rock Dude or Shrill Hot Girl it wouldn't have worked as well as it does.
That said I still got to say that I only like about a third or maybe half the songs. The aforementioned Supervixen, Queer, Only Happy When It Rains, Vow and Stupid Girl are in that category, the rest are okay songs, but nonetheless pretty lame.
Could be worth taking it out for a spin once in a while, though.
