0102. Paul Simon
Paul Simon
Almost two years after the break up with long-time partner Garfunkel, Paul Simon released his first solo outing. A thorougly good album, Paul Simon (yes, it's an eponymous title) goes on the GotToGets from the get-go, cause the (very unexpected) reggae of Mother And Child Reunion, the brutal honesty of Run That Body Down and the beautiful storytelling of Duncan (with guest-reappearece of El Condor Pasa's Los Incas) are just stunning.
The rest of the tracks range from blues to uptempo pop and all performed with ease and tremendous skill, making this one of the high points of 1972's album releases. Get it, listen to it, enjoy!
