0097. Led Zeppelin
(untitled / "Led Zeppelin IV")
Commonly known as "Led Zeppelin IV", but without any actual name this is, well, their fourth album. Starts off with Black Dog that, with it's complex pattern, at times make the band sound like they're struggeling with the music.
It's a bit curious, but some kind of serenity manifests itself when Stairway To Heaven starts playing - well, until they let it rip, that is. And although they've stolen more than a couple of bars for it it's one of the great and defining tracks of rock and concludes the A-side of the album with high expectations.
The one thing that's a bit of a downer on the album are the slow tracks (dämn, I think my grammar just got smacked in the face) where they've unplugged everything and play their mandolins and whatever. Like The Battle Of Evermore and Going To California.
The most annoying track though, is Misty Mountain Hop, with it's wierd singing in the verses. I don't know what's more annoying, though: that it's got this wierd singing or that I actually like it? Cause it gets into my brain and just hangs out to party for a while.
