Just about twenty minutes of the proto-grunge that inspired Nirvana and countless others this is an EP that at first didn't sell. Probably cause it was (warning: incoming trite phrase!) ahead of it's time. At the end of the eighties there wasn't a lot of albums like these around, I guess.
As for the songs I have a hard time picking out any one in particular for an extra listen, they're all pretty damn good! It feels as if the band was on a definitive roll when they recorded the tracks (on a sidenote I, unknowingly at the time, used the a bit from the same movie-sample they got on In 'N' Out Of Grace on a mixtape I made in high school (or more accurately: they use the first part of the line and I use the end of it)).
It's got that punkis feel which always gets me going weather it's country, hiphop or rock. And as for my continuing battle against the voices the breaking of Mark Arms singing suits the music just fine. The only track I don't really appreciate i Chain That Door, which sounds too much like a haphazardly recorded track.
The rest of the EP might be short, but it's sweet!
(and no, the title doesn't mean what you might think, it's just the names of their favourite effect pedals)
