0067. Bob Dylan
The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan
Well, kicking off with a track which became eponymous with the hippie movement and the sixties it's hard to say anything else than that this is an instant classic. (the song of course being Blowing In The Wind [fact: both melody and "feel" ofthe song are based on the 19th century spiritual No More Auction Block])
The magnificient Masters Of War puts it's hooks in right from the first chord (also an adaptation of an old melody, although not entirely his adaptation - a slight miss which cost him five grand to resolve). With it's not so peaceful anti-war lyrics and the aforementioned borrowed tune it's probably one of Bob's top three songs.
And as some of the other songs on this album are A Hard Rain's a-Gonna Fall and Don't Think Twice, It's All Right, it shouldn't be too hard to guess it gets a good grade.
Unfortunately the copy I had available had a scratch, which caused some severe skipping in places, so I didn't get the perfect experience (well, it got replaced with the "problem with records"-experience), but that doesn't change the fact that this is a great album.
