0055. The Kinks
Village Green Preservation Society

The Kinks' 6th album is their second entry on this list (and if you've been following this page for a couple of days it seems like there's a trend here) is a sentimental outing, reminiscing of the simpler life in a hamlet somewhere in the English countryside.
That said it's a bit less interesting than the earlier entry. Mainly due to the lyrics not hitting it off with me this time - even after the fourth listen. It's full of nostalgia for a time and place I can't really relate to and even the songs that are on a more of a general theme (lost friends and such) still feel like more relevant to the village setting than my personal reminiscing.
Also; this is an album without evergreens, but I got to say that it was pretty brave to not make a psychedelia-album back in '68. Kudos for that!
