Irritatingly enough, the book (1001 Albums You Must Hear) lists the
English versions of the Kraftwerk albums instead of the original
German language releases, so instead of Europa Endlos we get Europe
While it might not seem like much to fuss about it's a question of credibility here - is the reason an album is worth hearing the sales it got or how good it is? (yes, I know it was recorded bi-lingually from the get-go, but still: the German version is considered the original and, due to the language, has a slightly different feel to it).
We've of course heard part of the title-track (and the rest of the B-sides suite as the songs blend into eachother) earlier, as it was covered (not sampled, a fact 1001 Albums... got wrong) in Afrika Bambaataa & The Soulsonic Force's Planet Rock - a piece of music that, if I dare say so, actually trumps the original.
The minimalist electro is undeniably catchy and perhaps more refined than on Autobahn, so I'll just say thumbs up, kids.
