0094. The Stooges
Fun House

the sleeve image for this album

A welcome return of the band called The Stooges - this time around it's their second album and somehow it feels better produced than their third. Cause even though some of the songs on this one are actually weaker they sound better than the songs on the Bowie-mixed Raw Power.

But then there's the songs that stand on their own no matter what, like 1970, Fun House and Down On The Street. It's protopunk with insane amounts of attitude (yes, even the more or less free-form saxophone on Fun House sounds good). There's just one thing that really disturbs me while I listen to this album and it's that I can't for the life of me remember who "borrowed" the bassline (and the guitar pattern!) from Dirt - very annoying.
